Description

Chris Goranson, Director, Geographic Information Systems at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, describes ways in which voluntarily provided public health information can improve what we know about health behaviors. He also describes ways in which this public data can complement existing health data collection strategies. Future applications of geospatial technologies and the implications of them on public health practice are also discussed.
